FEATURES

JOGGERING STATIONS
After the exit of the collator, the set enters in the wire-o binding machine where it finds three joggering stations, which register the material by means of three beating squares (head and foot and side).
The transport of the material in this section is made by means of pusher fingers, which simply push the calendar without drag it and avoiding to mark or make dirty the set.

CARDBOARD FEEDER (OPTIONAL)
In the first station it’s possible to feed automatically the “triangle” cardboard for the table calendars by means of a suction feeder: in this case the joggering stations are equipped with special squares to jogger the shorter sheets.

PUNCHING STATION
Once the material comes out from the joggering perfectly registered, it is blocked between two belts which, with a variable pressure, avoid any movement, assuring no scaling of the calendar. The material is punched by means of punching tools with 3:1” pitch (this choice has been made evaluating the market demand, which use for the 90% this solution, but it’s possible to have, on demand, also 4:1” pitch).
All the adjustments of the punching tools and matrix during the format changing operations, are extremely simple and reliable due to the fact that the machine works with a fixed zero point (on the right side): in this way it needs only to lean the first punching tool against the proper register square.
Once the adjustment has been effected, automatically will be also set upthe wire-o binding station.

WIRE-O BINDING STATION
After the punching the material comes over in the binding station. The wire-o is hanged up to the calendar without moving it. The passing between the punching and the wire-o binding stations is electronically synchronized and changes with the changing of the speed of the line. Also the speed of the wire-o hanging up is proportional to the machine speed and thanks to this the line is able to reach very high speed. This architecture allowed a high process reliability, thanks to the fact that is the wire-o that is brought to the calendar which doesn’t suffer any movement that can change its composition.
The binding station is hanged up on a interchangeable trolleys in order to make faster the wire-o diameter changing (1/4”, 3/16” and 5/16” diameter kits are available): when a change of a kit have to be made, with simple actions, the group is released from the machine and is replaced with the other one.
In this station there is also the metallic hanger forming and hanging up by means of a loader, which can contains more than 500 pre-cut 2 mm diameter wire straight pieces. The hangers, once they are formed, are stopped in a accumulator (it can contain about 70 hangers), which allows to the user to refill the loader without stopping the production.

DELIVERY EXIT
The last station receives the calendar, which is diverted 90° on the left, compared with the direction of the material in the wire-o binding machine, on a delivery conveyor, where is checked the presence of the hanger by means of a sensor which stops the machine in case of missing hanger.

General Data

The Maxima W.S., automatic wire-o binding machine, was born for calendar production; thanks to its mechanical speed (3000 cycles/hour) and its extreme easiness and speed in format changing, it allows the user to reach very high productivites and, therefore, to be really competitves on the market.

The Maxima W.S. is linkable only with last generation Maxima collators with computer, except for some cases which have to be individually considered.

The wire-o binding machine is electronically interfaced with the collator, so when a variation is made on one of the two machines, the other is able to adapt on the first one. Moreover, it also has, like collator, a touch screen panel, which allows to operate in an intuitive, fast and effective way also while the machine is working, thanks to simple icons.

Characteristics

Transfer: Devise for the connection between the Maxima to the WS line. the offers to the operators an alternative way, taking on consideration the heavy duty of the work line.

Joggering Stations

On the transfer ending the dossier will go on through the WS line where will meet there level station that will register the material, thanks to pneumatic square knocker (head, feet and side). Paper transportation in this section happens through help of belt with pusher fingers that will push the material without dragging it, and avoid any damaging to the dossier. Once the material is out of the perfect register, there are two pinces (A) that lock it, to prevent any motion during the very fast transfer of material to different work station. (B) Sensors installed on varios station will control the work-line. Collator will stops in case of jam.

Punching Station

A punching-tools of different punches the materials. The assembling operations of the matrix and the punching tools at the changing stage are very easy and reliable due to the fact that the machine works with a fixed zero point (right side of the calendar). It is enough to leaning the first punching tool to the proper register square. Once the adjustment is done, the wire-o station will adjust automatically.

Binding Station

Once the materials punched, it will go through the binding station. The wire-o will insert onto the callendar without any motion. The transit between the punching station to the binding station is synchronized. Binding speed changes as soon as line speed increase or reduce; also the transfer speddy of the wire-o for the insert to the calendar are equal to the work-line, and those can go very fast. The accomplishment of the wire-o cut will happen with a singualar knife and removing and mulck.

A) Binding station is on changeable cargo, that allows for a faster wire change (3/16. 1/4, 5/16, 3/8). When operator needs to change the size of the wire, cargo "unhook" from the group of work-line, and then replaces it with desired diameter.

B) On this station will also happen the loading and insert of metallic hook through the shaping that hold up to 500 pre-cut of wire of 2mm not yet finely-shaped but already cutted.

Once the hooks are shaped they will stop to the accumulator (will hold up to 70) that allows the operation in binding line to filling up the charger without stopping the productions.

C) A sensor will check the calendar with help of hanger, after insert the wire, in case it will not insert. Worl-line will stop and show to the touch screen the reasons of the stop.

OVERTURN - System in order to turn of 360 degrees cardboard, first and according to sheet (optional)

This system serves in order to improve the aesthetic of the calendar.

Putting that before the stacker, this device allows the final rotation 360 of the end of the calendar.

Touch Screen

Touch screen panel allows intutive operation in a fast and effective way while the machine is working.

It is a high technology machine, designed and built with the latest generation components. Depending on the market requests it allows customers to invest in small equipment, easy to be operated.

Projected for binding brochures, manuals, calendars, folders, and special products, a perfect solution to produce small runs, very flexible for several applications:

  • Punching
  • Punching and inserting the wire-o
  • Wire-o binding with or without hanger
  • Binding with the wire-o, using materials already perforated

The WM set-up is automatic and intuitive by using the touch-screen. No adjustment on the binding kit by selecting the wire-o number of rings on the touch screen.

The operator can easily center the material between the clamps by using the punching and hanger profile marked on the stell table.

The material is moved by clamps and perforated by perforating tools of various sizes. The operations on the punch and base tools, during the change of the format, are extremely easy.

After the perforation, the material, still kept by the clamps, reaches the binding station where.

In this station the metallic hanger is shaped and inserted through a loader which can store about 500 pieces of wire (2mm diameter) already cut,but still not shaped. Up to 70 hangers ready can be stored by the accumulator.

A detector situated after the hanger's insertion checks its presence and stop the machine in case of absence.

The automatic insert of the wire-o is obtained keeping the material still.

The binding station is interchangeable over a tray which allows to put the different kit (3/16”, 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”) in less than five minutes. When it is requested to change the wire-o size, with simple movement you just have to unlock the kit from the machine and to substitute it with the new one.
